Hudson River Percussion

Veronica Hudson is a proficient percussionist taught through the Upper Darby School District (U.D.S.D.). U.D.S.D. has had legendary instructors, such as Brad Schoener, Tim Blessington, Jason Majerczak, Bob Cizmarik, and Mike Nevin, who were experts in arrangements, composition, and percussion. They have all shaped Veronica’s views, performance, and instruction of percussion.

Over the past two years, Veronica has been expanding her musical knowledge and abilities by achieving the Widener University Music Scholarship, where she played in various ensembles, becoming adaptable to play any type of music thrown her way. She was apart of the Jazz Band, the Marching Band, and the Percussion Ensemble at Widener Univeristy. From those ensembles, Veronica and other Widener Music students students came together to create a funk band named Bröken Vibez, where they have performed a number of times at Chris’ Jazz Cafe on their late night band specials in 2018.

Veronica has most recently transformed her playing experience by teaching high school students auxiliary percussion. Starting at Penn Wood High School in May of 2018, she wrote numerous front ensemble exercises for the students to play. Sololy instructing about fifteen students, she taught many lessons, instructions, and fundamental techniques of percussion, getting them from a level of no knowledge of percussion, to a level of being first place in percussion in every competition in the 2019 marching band season. Veronica began instructing Ridley High School November of 2018, directed by Jason Majerczak. She is now closely working with a team of pit instructors, including Tollie Contento who’s drumline won first place in the WGI Finals Competition in 2010, to give a well-rounded musical experience to the students of Ridley.

Now, Veronica is offering private lessons--remote, in home, and at your home! Percussion lessons range from just simple sticks on a pad, to music theory, to 4-mallet technique on marimba, vibraphone, xlyophone, and all auxiliary percussion.
