About
Looking for a piano teacher to get your child excited about learning a new instrument?! I have experience teaching children as young as 5.
I've been playing piano for 16 years and love working with kids as I teach elementary school full time. I believe in a holistic approach to piano that allows students to learn music theory, play arrangements that are exciting to them, as well as learn from the classical canon. You're never too young to learn an instrument and there's endless research that supports its usefulness for both young children and adults. Reach out to me if you're interested!!

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I start my lessons my assessing the student's interest and experience with music. It's impossible to teach someone something they don't want to learn, so I tend to start by getting to know the student as a human being first. From there we determine what they want to get out of our time together and from there we get started.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Education:
Bachelor's of Arts from Williams College in Music and Psychology (June 2020)
Studied composition at Oxford University for a year (2018-2019)
One of the winning performers in the 2020 Berkshire Symphony Concerto Competiton
Recipient of the Williams College Hutchinsons Fellowship
How did you get started teaching?
I started teaching in high school to local children who wanted to start learning. I loved it! Working with kids is my passion and as a POC I am especially conscious of teaching students of color. Music is an incredible field and playing an instrument is an invaluable skill that is reserved for those with the resources to learn. I am committed to working with students of color to provide them with high-quality early music education and to encourage a love of music in them.
