My teaching approach:
As I was, back in the '70s, a student of Albert Valdes Blain, the maestro at Mannes College in NYC, and who was a first generation protege of Andres Segovia, my approach reflects this "Spanish Romantic" style, stressing the development of a technique that supports the full range of tonal dynamics and articulated phrasing. Scales, ligado exercises and select etudes comprise the core curriculum.
