My teaching approach: I feel it is important for students to get a well rounded musical education. I do my very best to teach with music that appeals to each student's particular taste. Students respond much better learning from music they like. I like to mix in as much theory as a student is willing to digest. My influences are: Jimmy Page, Angus Young, Jimi Hendrix, Zakk Wylde. I love the Foo Fighters and Dave Grohl. Dave Grohl is an amazing songwriter. My guitar lessons take place in: The teacher's studio or the student's home Guitar Lessons with me take place in the following areas: Marllboro and surrounding towns. Guitar Techniques: Guidance In Equipment Selection, Song Writing, Scales and Exercises, Music Theory, Reading Music, Jamming Skills, Performance, Open tuning, Rhythm guitar, Lead guitar Your first guitar lesson with me might include the following: I have a student play several notes and then simple chords. I have found that with my experience, I am usually able to assess a student's natural playing ability within several minutes. I will then design a teaching plan based on the student's skill level. A guitar lesson with me might entail the following: We review the prior weeks homework, which generally means practicing a particular song or mastering a particular technique. We will move on to a new song once I feel the student has mastered the previous song. Some songs a student plays well in 1 week, and some songs take several weeks for a student to master. The qualities I look for in an ideal guitar student might include the following: Someone who has a desire to learn, regardless of natural playing ability.

I find that teaching with music that the student enjoys yields the best results. The student is more excited about learning and practicing. Of course music chosen must always have teaching and learning value. I dont just teach songs, i teach how to play the guitar. I like to mix in as much theory as the student would like to learn. At a minimum, my students always come away with an understanding of basic music theory as it applies to guitar playing.
I charge $30 for half hour lessons, $40 for 3/4 hour lessons, and $45 for 1 hour lessons.
