My teaching approach:I help my students obtain a thorough understanding of both the guitar and music theory. This allows you to be able to be creative rather than just reading tab and chord charts. My influences are:Too many to say but the two men who made me fall in love with the guitar were Jimmy Page and Stevie Ray Vaughan. My guitar lessons take place in:The student's homeGuitar Lessons with me take place in the following areas:Mt. Pleasant, West Ashley, Summerville, Charleston, North Charleston, Goose CreekGuitar Techniques:Lead guitar, Rhythm guitar, Fingerstyle, Performance, Improvisation, Jamming Skills, Reading Music, Music Theory, Scales and Exercises, Song Writing, Guidance In Equipment SelectionYour first guitar lesson with me might include the following:I usually just ask them to play a song or two that they know. It doesn't have to be perfect or anything. I'm really looking for how much they know and possible gaps in their knowledge rather than their "ability".A guitar lesson with me might entail the following:Usually I will assign scales or songs (depending on your skill level). In order to try to keep my students from losing interest in guitar by assigning monotonous memorization of chords and scales, I try to introduce a new chord or scale with different songs so you learn and are able to play a song at the same time. The qualities I look for in an ideal guitar student might include the following:Nothing thrills me more than teaching someone who wants to be taught. Practice is incredibly important. I really just want my students to practice and do their best.
