Frequently asked questions

New students are my specialty. I focus on learning all the basics needed to advance to an intermediate level Key points are learning where all the notes are, timing and how to play.

I have several years of formal training. I have over 40 years actual playing time, in a band or ensemble of some sort. I play guitar and bass exceptionally well and can be an inspirational influence on my students. My local students are always invited to cone out to my gigs and if they are working my program they are learning songs too and have in the past taken the stage with my band mates and I.

Practice time should be at least 1 hour a day. If possible broken into smaller chunks of time. For example 3 20 minute practice times throughout the day depending on you schedule.

I was playing on bass stage in a mega church many years ago and was tracked down by the father of one of my current bass students, he had remembered me and asked me to teach his daughter; to get to the next level.

All kinds. Beginner to advanced. I’m open to teaching anyone who has a willingness to learn; but also put in the effort.

I worked a benefit for my friends family. His older brother had died and we raised money for the expenses. I was paid nothing for the show; but it was a great performance.

I would tell them to find someone that they get along with and are comfortable being around. One on one lessons are a 2 way street however and it requires work on both ends.

I would say no question is wrong so whatever your thinking ask me. Sometimes beginners have no idea what to ask so; just ask. If your stuck on a pattern or phrase; just ask.
