This is beginning Guitar done easy. If you are intrested in eletric I am not your person. I can teach you how to play chords. No music reading. I try to make it simple, exciting, fun and sometimes overwhelming. And that's all good.
Keeps the mind active and alive. Keeps you wondering whats around the corner and which song are we going to work on next. And then I like to look at the student. What do they want to play?

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I like to find out what type of music they like and listen to.
Who or what artist-muscian influences them.
Please note i am teaching the first 2 years of guitar. You do not need to read music. I am teaching blues, bluegrass, old time, folk old country. No classical. Finger picking style and strumming techniques will be taught as well as preparing songs to play. iPad help if you own one.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
40 Years of experience. Playing gigs to writing music. Set list to styles.

Describe a recent event you are fond of.
I recently played at a camp in Ninety Six, SC. for a childrens home here in Columbia to help them with a building fund at the camp. Building was 1910 Tabbernacle where so many events had taken place in the small communtiy of Ninety Six, SC
I recently played at The Harriett Barber House to celebrate "Keeping the Blues alive" in South Carolina thru the Smithsonian Institute
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Get the one {teacher}who fits you. You will learn more from a teacher you connect with.
You will see the teachers excitment too. I hope.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
What do they want to learn?
Style? Depends on your instrument. If you dont have one we can work on that too.
Why do you want to learn to play? What drove you to it?
To me its all up to the student on how bad they want it. How much are they willing to practice and dedicate their time to learning a instrument and a song?
