What is your typical process for working with a new student?

I like to talk with prospective and current students about their experience, background, interests, what they want to learn to assess their experience level, to decide my approach to teaching them.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

Computer and Music, Music Theory, Sight Singing Ear Training at the University of S.C.

Computer and Music Production and theory at Fullsail University.

Playing in professional major recording bands and artists.

Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.

I charge $45.00 per hour, but at this time my price is negotiable because of the covid19 situation.

How did you get started teaching?

My father was a well known big band drummer and band manager in New York City in the 1940s.

He taught private lessons there and in Columbia SC.

He taught me his approach to teaching. Over the years I combined his approach along with my own.

What types of students have you worked with?

Younger and Older students that have to really want to learn and be willing to practice.

Describe a recent event you are fond of.

Watching drum videos on you tube.

What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?

Talk with many and hire the one you feel you're the most comfortable talking with.

What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?

What and how the teacher is going to teach them to get them where they want to go musically.
