About

After teaching about ten years, I can definitely say I have found the right way to do things. Or should I say ways.

Every guitar student seems to have their own unique talent.

We learn this as performers and teachers. I see it as a bandleader.

There is just not a one size fits all approach.

My focus is on confidence and performance. We start playing day one, focusing on flow and then learning the theory behind it as time goes one.

I love breaking down even simple tunes to help students understand music a little better, but keeping the focus on the actual performance.

I get to work with people, funny people, smart people, hard working people.

I love it when a student tells me their confidence has gone through the roof.

Frequently asked questions

Start playing. Day one, lesson one.  You can do it, almost everyone is playing by the end of the first lesson.

I studied Commercial Music at USC Upstate, and privately studied classical and jazz.

In addition to teaching, I perform with my band, The Hustle, and have played classical, theater, jazz, and rock/pop gigs.

$60 per month for elementary aged students, $70 per month for adults.

I just loved doing it and apparently passed the test to teach at Greenville Guitar Academy.

All ages, a lot of different backgrounds, and a lot of different styles.

We have students recording in the studio and I could not be more proud of their progress.

Our last recital one of my 9 year old students tore it up on Communication Breakdown and that still makes my day when I see the video.

Do they play live?  Have they played live?  How is their demeanor? Do they focus on solos or time? Should I do transcriptions? Should I learn by ear? Can you teach me to read?

Can this person answer my questions?
