What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I do a thorough first lesson evaluation to establish the students present level of knowledge and ability in order to create a plan of action individualized for each and every student to maximize their lesson time.
For private event live music I work with my clients in as much detail as needed to ensure my preparation and follow through in making their event enjoyable for all.

How did you get started teaching?
I started studying music in college in 2003 and have been on the journey of teaching and performing since then. Guitar was actually my first passion musically - starting over 20 years ago.

All ages and abilities. Children, adults, and adolescents.

I recently recorded an EP of all original material.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
In regards to music instruction, try some lessons with a few teachers if possible and see who you resonate with. We all have have different teaching and learning styles, and it is important to find a good fit for you to truly learn.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
What are your goals? Long term and short term. What do you enjoy most about music or the instrument you would like to study? Why music and why this instrument? How can your instructor help you? What do you want out of lessons?
