About
I offer a wide diversity of music styles and options for students. I myself sing and play classical, pop, rock, jazz and other styles of music. I also house an extensive library of sheet music and apps I provide copies from. My primary instruments are piano and voice.
I love sharing the joy of music with all ages. There is nothing like seeing a student master of piece they’ve been working on or perform for the first time! I love the integrative nature of teaching and performance and relationship-building. Welcome to a range of goals from just joy to performing with other musicians!
For guitar lessons and basic voice or piano lessons, contact Chris Boone. We work in tandem on music lessons. He is located downtown and makes house-calls for us. Please tell him Jo sent you, and call him directly: 843-817-6944. He looks forward to your text/call! :)

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I chat with new students about their music goals, whether it be fun or auditions. We work closely together to incorporate their interests in as educational and fun ways as we can!
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have years of private piano and voice lessons, as well as years of competing and gigging to share. I have a Bachelors of Music Business with a minor in Marketing and actively teach, gig and record all over. A member of professional groups, I continue my learning process to be at my very best!
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
I charge $75 per hour, groupable by a 4, 8 or 12 week cycle. I offer make-ups for documented sickness and one out-of-town make-up per semester. I ask students to be sensitive of their time and effort, as well as mine.
How did you get started teaching?
I played in bars many years and wanted a change, originally. Having had great private teachers, I always closely observed their teaching styles. One day, I started with two students and fell in love with it! Now I teach up to 25 students per week! Y’all rock :)!!
What types of students have you worked with?
I work with the very beginner to the advanced classical student. Some have prior lessons, talent or disabilities we utilize as strengths. A large diversity of music taste, ethnicity, etc.
