Homeworks Studio
About
I offer a wide diversity of music styles and options for students. I myself sing and play classical, pop, rock, jazz and other styles of music. I also house an extensive library of sheet music and apps I provide copies from. My primary instruments are piano and voice. I’ve been teaching for over a decade now!
I love sharing the joy of music with all ages. There is nothing like seeing a student master of piece they’ve been working on or perform for the first time! I love the integrative nature of teaching, performance and relationship-building, whether your goals are just joy or a lifetime of performing!

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I chat with new students about their music goals, whether it be fun or auditions. We work closely together to incorporate their interests in as educational and fun ways as we can! We then continue to see how we can grow best together!
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have years of private piano and voice lessons, as well as years of competing and gigging to share. I have a Bachelors of Music Business with a minor in Marketing and actively teach, gig and record all over. A member of professional groups, I continue my learning process to be at my very best!
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
We have a per hour charge, groupable by a 4, 8 or 12 week cycle. My full schedule allows for only one make-up lesson per semester, so choose wisely. I ask students to be sensitive of their time and effort, as well as mine. Practice makes perfect!
How did you get started teaching?
I played in clubs many years and wanted a change, originally. Having had great private teachers, I always closely observed their teaching styles. One day, I started with two students and fell in love with it! Now I teach over 30 students per week!
What types of students have you worked with?
I work with the very beginner to the advanced classical student. Some have prior lessons, talent or disabilities we utilize as strengths. A large diversity of music taste, ethnicity, etc.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
Our Spring Recital was a huge success! We usually host it around Memorial Day. Students of all ages perform and their loved ones support them! We eat a potluck after and mingle with one another :).
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
I say look for reliability in scheduling, timing, materials and attitude. A lot goes into running any business. But as long as a teacher is serious, half of your job is done. The other half is on your end with things like practice and general preparedness :).
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
Think about what your goals might be. Are they just seeking a fun hobby? Nothing wrong with that. Or are you preparing for an audition or performance? Either is fine with us, so long as we are clear. That way we can help you be your best for your goals :).
