Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
Teaching a new student is approached with a scientific mind. We generally learn by repetition. At Art of Boxing our hour long sessions have made it possible to get the maximum amount of reps to increase stamina and promote muscle memory for faster learning.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I myself have 10 years in competitive combat sports. I have dedicated myself to the craft by always looking to improve our methods of teaching or just learning new skills that can be used to improve my students learning experience.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
Art of Boxing offers lessons in various packages. There are 3 options to chose from.
Single lesson: $60
4 pack: 4 hour long sessions $220
8 pack: 8 hour long sessions $400
How did you get started teaching?
I started teaching after i finished fighting competitively. I started training directly under the creator of the methods used by Art of Boxing shortly after on how to properly train individuals using boxing. Training my eyes to see every small detail and mechanic to teach my clients proper technique.
What types of students have you worked with?
I have worked with kids all the way up to the elderly. I have also worked with special needs individuals. The method works for anyone.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
A recent event im fond of was my participation in a festival in my home town. There i got the opportunity to work with the youth and allow them to experience boxing. Seeing there smiles as they worked one on one with me was priceless. Especially the 2 year old that got in on the action.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
My advice would be to find a teacher that loves the craft and understands how it can be used to benefit your life in other ways than just fitness. It should be a true connection between the both of you and as a trainer i want to hear how i have improved your life. Rather its a relationship or improved self control. I know i did my job the best i could when my client tells me about something like that.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
Really think about what it is you want from working with someone. Have it clear in your mind your goals and be honest on what you expect from the teacher. That way you have benchmarks to work towards as you train together
