What is your typical process for working with a new student?

When I work with a new student I find what types of music they are interested in. There level of experience is important to me. If they are beginning, intermediate or advanced  tells me where I need to start.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

BA in Music/Piano Cal State University Los Angeles. Over 25  years experience in teaching piano. Member of Nashville Area Teachers Association, Tennessee Music Teachers Association and Music Teachers National Association.

Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.

$96 per month for for four 30 minute lessons. 45 minute and 60 minute lessons also available.

How did you get started teaching?

I first started teaching when I was in college. After graduation I started teaching and performing on a regular basis.

What types of students have you worked with?

I've worked with a large variety of students. From 4 years to 80 years old. Begining, intermediate and advanced levels. I can work with student in the popular, classical and jazz styles.

What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?

Do some research into what type of music and what are your goals for learning to play your instument or voice. Look at different teachers and what they have to offer you as a student.

What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?

What type of music do I want to learn? Such as classical, popular, rock, jazz ect. How much time do I have to put learning an instrument? What kind of teacher do I think would I work best with?
