Barb taught my three kids how to play the piano. She was very kind and had a way of encouraging each one of them to progress to the level they each wanted. One of my three went on to get her MA (Master of Arts) in piano performance and piano pedagogy. She has taught at the college level and now has her own studio. She credits Barb with instilling a love for music and the piano. I give Barb my highest recommendation and know that all who train with Barb, no matter their level of interest, will reach their potential and enjoy the journey!

Frequently asked questions

I assess the student's current level, goals, and interests, and work from there. There will be an added cost for books, which will depend on the student's age, interests, and experience.

I studied piano with some incredible teachers, including concert pianists and college professors from the age of 12. By age 14 I was playing for our church and was hired for many weddings at multiple churches in town. I began teaching when I was 17 and have taught many students of all ages throughout the years.

I took a break from teaching for a while as I completed my degree and developed a corporate career, but have since chosen to come back to my place of passion.

I had been approached by those who had heard me play. I started with a school age child and soon grew into a full time job.
I’ve worked with students of all ages. A few have gone on to become music majors, performers, and college professors.
I recently enjoyed Hillside College’s free course on the History of Classical music. Hyperion Knight is an incredible pianist and instructor.
