Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I offer a free "get acquainted" meeting. New students start right in with the Faber Piano Adventures series. Transfers play for me to determine level, and then I match them to the Faber method.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
B.Mus. in church music and MME (master of music ed.)
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
My rates are clearly posted on my website.
How did you get started teaching?
Taught on the side for many years through church jobs, then was recruited in 2000 by Belmont Academy as a staff instructor.
What types of students have you worked with?
All sorts, young and old, gifted and not so, "normal" and autistic...you name it!
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
My semi-annual student recitals are a highlight of the year.
