A To G Piano Lessons
About
Having the structure of a classical music background has given me a solid foundation in my music career. This foundation has given me a strong sense of the theory behind the music. I have learned to be dedicated and persistent and I have learned that it may take more than just a few weeks or months or even years to feel like I have a grasp on a piece of music.
Having said all this, I've been exposed to many forms of music. I have performed many musicals, I have played many types of church music, I have played pop charts and then list goes on. Without my classical music background every other form of music would have been much more difficult for me.
So to summarize, I feel as if my service stands out because I have been exposed to so many genres of music and because of this I have come in to contact with many different types of people of different ethnicities and age ranges.
The best part for me is the moment I am able to see the face of accomplishment on a student. Weeks of practice and maybe even frustration has finally paid off.

Frequently asked questions
How did you get started teaching?
I started teaching while I was a student at Vanderbilt University. I was required to take a pedagogy class. Pedagogy means the art of teaching. I was assigned a student and we were required to make lesson plans and videotape our lessons and our professor would critique our methods and teaching style.
What types of students have you worked with?
I have worked with children that are 3 years old. I have worked with high school students. I have worked with college students. So it goes to say that I've worked with a wide array of people of different ages, ethnicities, and gender.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
There has to be a sense of connection between the teacher and the student. Learning can become difficult if a connection isn't there. Don't be afraid to tell your teacher you don't like something or that you don't understand something because your teacher is there to help you and guide you .
