Hello! I am a Vocal Pedagogy graduate student at Belmont University in Nashville, TN. My undergraduate degree is from Michigan State University in Music Education. I have taught high school chorus in Georgia, but I have a true passion for teaching in a private setting.
I have taught private voice lessons for a couple of years in Michigan and I would like to establish a studio in the Nashville area. I am currently learning the pedagogy of the voice in my Master's degree so that I can become a more knowledgable teacher.
I would love to work with singers at ANY level to grow their passion and skill of the instrument. I also offer lessons in music theory, sight reading, and ear training. Please contact me if you are interested and we can talk in more detail about lessons. Looking forward to hearing from you!
I love to teach, especially in a private setting, because I can give my undivided attention to my student. Teaching privately allows me to closely track the progress of each student throughout his or her study with me. Witnessing the growth of a student's curiousity, ability, and voice, so that one day that student will be his or her own teacher is what I enjoy most about teaching private voice lessons.
My daughter takes voice lessons from Bakara. Bakara is very patient and encouraging. She tries various songs to keep my daughter engaged.
Her persistence in getting to perfection with teaching with a good understanding in things I didn't know about music..something new at every lesson
Bakara is amazing!! She is great with children and adults. My daughter and I have taken voice lessons together, and we have both seens improvements. I can't say enough positive things about her!
Bakara has high expectations for her students and communicates them clearly with lots of praise when they succeed. My girls have made huge strides since they began with Bakara. I would recommend her to anyone looking for a serious, but patient and encouraging, piano teacher.
