About this pro

I am a classically-trained violinist and composer with over 30 years of teaching experience. I have studied many traditions, including non-Western ones and the at of improvisation. I specialize in teaching students who have some experience in music already, and can offer more than just violin instruction: general music training; improvisation; introduction to modal traditions such as Middle Eastern and Indian traditions; composition; ear-training and vocalization; etc. I take a holistic approach to music-making and understand that each student has individual needs and abilities.

If you are looking for musical instruction, lucky you ... you've just happened upon one of the best out there! Roberto is an experienced musician with a broad range of knowledge and impressive talent. Creative, solidly skilled, and deeply soulful. In addition to his masterful musicianship, his excellent communication skills and patient, encouraging support of developing musicians make him a five-star teacher. Sign-up for lessons as soon as you can. You'll be glad you did and wish you'd done it sooner!

His leadership. The way that he gracefully guides you to imagine and create...

He is a super precise musician, but still very patient with people just beginning to learn. He has a vast knowledge of world music, and from his many years in the National Arab Orchestra he has extensive knowledge of Middle Eastern music. Even though he is patient, he gives accurate assessments to encourage people to improve. He performs mostly with violin, but he teaches people playing a wide variety of instruments. He has a lot of experience teaching ensembles of musicians to perform as a group.
