What is your typical process for working with a new student?
What I TEACH:

I normally devise a unique lesson plan for each individual in order to cater to their specific needs. For example, some students have great pitch but need to strengthen their breathing technique to better sustain long notes. While others need to work on pitch before they move on to other techniques.
Each lesson starts with vocal exercises and warmups catored to the student's specific needs. Then we spend time working on a song for the student to practice with and improve upon.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I was a choir director for a local church and middle school along with years of experience professionally singing. I also worked with a local music school who trained me how to teach voice 1 on 1.

$50 per lesson
Package Deal is $180 per month for weekly lessons
How did you get started teaching?
I started out professionally singing and then helped local schools and churches as a choir director.
What types of students have you worked with?
I have worked with many different kinds of students. I have worked with children learning theater, high schoolers prepairing for shows, professional singers in the industry and adults who just want to learn for fun. I have helped people with Jazz, Gospel, Rock, Pop, Country, Blues, R&B and Musical Theater.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
I was the choir director for a local group of refugees who were asked to open for the Austin Musical Awards. It was a very exciting event to be a part of and a great gift to open the show with them!
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
I only lead you into practices you are ready for. A lot of students who come to me are nervous at first and it's completely normal. I understand and know how scary it is to sing in front of someone. So, I always do my best to take the fear and discomfort out of singing and make it fun. It has been very rewarding to witness so many students transform after working with me.
