What is your typical process for working with a new student?

Meeting is the first thing.  I like to discuss your goals and what you want to accomplish with your music.

We discuss the process, set goals, and select the best time for your lesson(s).

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?

Set up at time to visit with the teacher prior to hiring to see if it is a good fit for you.  Teaching styles vary.  So, make sure you feel comfortable with your choice.  It is always good to discuss goals and make sure you are both on the same page.

What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?

1.   What do I want to accomplish with my lessons (goals)?

2.   What is a realistic timeframe for change?

3.   Am I committed to the process?

4.   Am I open to change what is needed to be a better musician?

5.  Do I have the time to devote what is needed to accomplish my goal(s)?
