Steven Pickett Guitar Lessons
About
My teaching approach:
I was taught a course similar to Berklee.edu. The course covers the fret board and music theory. It has been said this course is about two years of college theory made easy for anyone to understand. You will be able to understand any video on the internet and where it came from concerning music theory. It will have you band ready in a short time and just give you more confidence in yourself and your playing. We will also cover other topics such as that tone you are looking for. Believe me, you don't need two half stacks with an Eventide. I did kill a lot of bugs though.
My influences are:
From the 80's to modern music.
My guitar lessons take place in:
The teacher's studio
Guitar lessons typically take place on these days and hours:
I'll teach from noon to midnight 7 days a week. If another time is needed I can probably handle that also.
Guitar Techniques:
Lead guitar, Rhythm guitar, Performance, Improvisation, Music Theory, Scales and Exercises, Song Writing, Guidance In Equipment Selection
Your first guitar lesson with me might include the following:
The course is designed for you to practice what you need to be practicing in a way that just makes you better with a little time.
A guitar lesson with me might entail the following:
You'll start out learning all of the notes on the guitar using memory association in a fun way to help you remember. Then we will go over the major scale and just why it's called major. You'll learn all of the intervals, cycle of fifths, moveable shapes and chord formulas. We will then proceed to harmonizing the major scale and learn progressions. Next we'll cover pentatonic and modal playing. We cover just about everything to get you started and then you can proceed as you want with this information.
The qualities I look for in an ideal guitar student might include the following:
I like students that are curious and want to learn. It's not that hard and doesn't really take very long for theory.
