My teaching approach: Hi, I’m Hunter. I’m classically trained on upright bass, and professionally play bass and electric guitar. I am currently performing with a local Denton band, and have a few other projects in the DFW Area. I have experience teaching kids ages 6-17, from beginner students to advanced students, in multiple genres. Personally, I dig 60's music, classics like the Beatles, Hendrix, Jefferson Airplane, etc. My influences are: Beatles, Hendrix, Jefferson Airplane, Led Zeppelin, basically anything from the '60s. Neil Young, My Bloody Valentine, Grizzly Bear, Joy Division... there are too many to list, but I play/love a very diverse amount of music. My guitar lessons take place in: The teacher's studio or the student's home Guitar Lessons with me take place in the following areas: Dallas, Plano, Frisco, Denton... Guitar Techniques: Lead guitar, Rhythm guitar, Open tuning, Slide Guitar, Performance, Improvisation, Jamming Skills, Reading Music, Music Theory, Scales and Exercises, Guidance In Equipment Selection Your first guitar lesson with me might include the following: The best about teaching guitar and bass is that no two students will be the same. I'll sit with the student and have them show me (or just tell me) what they know, and then what they want to know. A guitar lesson with me might entail the following: Laid-back, but highly informative. I'll teach basic things at first, then, as lessons progress, we'll get into more full-length songs/harder material. You have to know the basics before The qualities I look for in an ideal guitar student might include the following: Someone who wants to be there and has a passion for both music AND learning. The more open you are to different styles of music, the more you'll enjoy learning how to play.
