What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Ms. Yu Ying Chang was born and raised in Taiwan. She began studying and playing piano at the age of 6, and picked up the clarinet at age 9.
Throughout her years of study, she has received several awards for both piano and clarinet, including the International Piano Competition in Tokyo (advanced to semifinals with Honorary Mention, 2012); Taipei County Senior High School Preliminaries (Honorary Mention for piano, 2005); Chu-Nan Town Piano Competition Youth Division (First Prize, 2004); National Music Competition (Honorary Mention: Clarinet Division, 2004); Miaoli County Music Competition (First Place: Clarinet Division, 2003); and Miaoli County Music Competition (Second Place, Clarinet Division, 2001).
Ms. Yu Ying studied under Dr. Pei-Ti Tsung and received her bachelor’s degree from Soochow University. In 2013, Ms. Yu Ying moved to the United States, where she studied under Dr. Gloria Chien at Lee University and achieved her Master’s degree. She earned a second Master's degree at the University of North Texas, where she is currently studying with Prof. Vladimir Viardo in pursuit of a Doctoral degree.
