FAQs

What is your typical process for working with a new student?

First, I check for prior knowledge and understanding. Then, a personalized curiculum is created to meet the individual learning style of the student & build on top of prior knowledge & understanding. After that, it's all hands on learning in the chosen field of the student!

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

*B.S. in Music-Sound Recording Technology (University of Arkansas-Pine Bluff)

*Texas Certified Teaching License - Music EC-12

*19 years Recording Artist, Performer, & Entertainer

*3 years K-5th grade general music (Dallas ISD)

*2.5 years 6-8th grade music/choir (Fort Worth ISD)

*4.5 years 9-12th grade choir/music theory (Fort Worth ISD)

Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.

Pricing varies on an individual basis and are subject to change.

How did you get started teaching?

I started as an kig/teenage entreprenur. I taught my bandmates how to read music and improvise (jazz). In high school & college, I taught my friends how to play electronic instruments (synthesizer keyboards, sequence music on keyboards, program drums on drum machines), as well as how to engineer studio sessions.

In my adult professional career, I started private piano and voice lessons in 2004, and served in a public school district from 2008 to the present.

What types of students have you worked with?

Various learning styles!

Over 10,000+ students to date!

*Adult Music Students, oldest student was 65 years old!

Describe a recent event you are fond of.

Creating a vision book, putting in it everything thagt I wannted to see manifested in my life on earth, and watching pieces unfold in real time! Moving to Japan to perform and tour, as an independent artist, is the highlight of my career to date!

What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?

My advice to all of my students has always been my own personal life quotes:

"Your imagination is your canvas!"

"If you can dream it, you can have it!"

"Take the risk!"

"Pursue your dreams!"

"Think positive!"

"Believe in yourself and the power of your mind!"

"Success comes to those to dream, plan, and execute!"

What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?

What is my goal?

What do I want to accomplish and in what amount of time?

What are my career plans?

What is my purpose?

How can my gifts and talents help humanity in a loving and positive way?
