Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I work with Singers, Actors and Pianists. Across various levels of experience, age and ability the common threas is an assessment. Where are you now? Where do you want to go? What absolutely excites you about learning your craft.
In every genre, we approach our craft with a toolkit. Technique. Technique -whether it is Meisner or Method for actors or Czerny and Hanon or Bel Canto or Belt- gives us access to grow and develop artistically with freedom and skill.
Students have multiple opportunities to engage in recitals, master classes, video and audio productions. Performers need to perform.
There is an emphasis on repertoire- portfolio building- we all need evidence of a body of work. It is rewarding to reflect on our accomplishments and to see or hear a collective of our performances over a period of time.
