I have years of experience of teaching and playing the violin, having completed three degrees in violin performance. Because I've been playing the instrument for 20+ years, I have worked with many teachers and know how to find what learning style works best for each individual student. The basic fundamentals of music are very important, so I emphasize those elements (note reading, music theory, rhythms, etc.) with all students, beginner or advanced. I enjoy teaching students of all ages and levels, and I offer lessons in my home or online, or in the student's home with an additional fee.
I think that learning to play the violin is about exploration--using the tools of the bow, the instrument, and our own movement to feel how sound and music can be created. I believe that anyone can learn to play music, and I strive to make every lesson fun and engaging!
Playing the violin is my passion, and I love sharing and inspiring that feeling in my students. The look on a student's face when they accomplish something, big or small, brings me so much joy. My objective is to help each student reach their own goals with music and the violin, whatever they may be.
