I enjoy learning about each student and what individually drives and motivates them and finding the very best approach to the violin for each of their individual strengths and goals.
Whether it's a motivated middle schooler leveling up at their school or in HYS, an adult fulfilling their life long dream of learning the violin just for fun, or high school student preparing for college entrance auditions, I enjoy being a part of each individual's journey with the violin and strive to develop each student to their fullest potential.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
After conencting through lessons.com, we discuss preliminary details over email (schedule, rate, experience etc) to see if we are a good match, and then if so we set up a phone call to get to know each other better. If it feels like we're a good fit, we schedule lessons and begin! As it takes someone already experienced on the violin a while to get to know a new teacher (and for me to get to know the student) or for a student new to the violin to get to know what violin lessons can be like, I don't offer single trial lessons.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
12 years private teaching experience
BMus and MMus in Violin performance
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
I have a standard pricing system, although discounts for siblings/friends having back to back lessons or students having lessons twice a week sometimes apply.
How did you get started teaching?
My older sister (also a violinist) had begun teaching, was passionate about it, and also very in demand to the point where some of her group classes had too many students! I began by pulling students out of group classes on a rotating basis for private lessons, which developed my ability and affinity for quickly identifying what a particular student's motivations and needs were, something I still employ in my day to day teaching.
What types of students have you worked with?
Ages 7-77, beginners to soon to be music majors!
