Stephanie Bork Violin
About
Stephanie has been playing violin for nearly 30 years and teaching for nearly 20 years. She strives not only to train up accomplished musicians but a new generation of music lovers.
I love when I've been working on a concept with a student and it "clicks". I love the delight sense of accomplishment that brings. I also love introducing a new generation to music.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I try to get to know each student and figure out their goals. If the student has already been playing violin I try to learn what they enjoy about violin and what they find challenging, so I can approach each student with the things they need in a way that they will enjoy, even though it's work. I also emphasize scales and exercises to build a strong foundation.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have played violin for 29 years. I have a bachelor of music in violin performance from the University of Cincinnati, and a master of music in violin performance from the University of Michigan. I have taught for more than 15 years, and have performed with the Houston Symphony and the Houston Grand Opera as well as many other regional orchestras around the country.
