Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
In the first lesson, we will assess where the student is now and what their goals are. I will suggest repertoire, skill building exercises, method books and online resources that would be useful to the student. I believe in lifelong learning and teach students of all ages. I recommend Alfred's Basic Piano Library method books for beginner keyboard students, and I love to help intermediate keyboard players find repertoire ranging from baroque to blues, minimalism to contemporary pop that speaks to their individuality and musicianship. My vocal students can expect to learn vocal anatomy, breath control, tone color, and music literacy; extend their range, improve ear training, and hone their acting skills.
