As a Board Certified Music Therapist, Inteach and work with students of all ages and abilities/needs. I have a bachelors in music education, masters in special education, masters in music therapy, and doctorate in music education. I am Professor Emeritus of Music Therapy at SMU in Dallas, where I taught for 13 years before relocating to Galveston Island.
I enjoy working with students of all ages and abilities/special needs in guitar, ukulele, songwriting, and singing instruction

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
Talking to or meeting with the student about their desires in learning music and any music background they may have. I always start at the student's level and work to provide them with an individualized plan to learn the skills they want.

bachelors degree in music education from Ithaca College
masters in music therapy, masters in special education, and doctorate in music education from Columbia University
30+ years teaching experience at the college level

Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
lessons are $25 for 30 minutes in my home studio. I will travel to teach in student homes based on distance. There may be an additional fee for this.
How did you get started teaching?
i was a music education major in college and have been teaching privately and in schools since graduating in 1978.
