About this pro

I've been a professional guitarist for over 30 years. I teach beginners and I specialize in The Blues & Rock. Most people learn how to play either by ear or they were school taught by reading music. I like to apply both methods. So this is the way I like to teach. We start off by listening to the song the student wants to learn and train their ears to be able to find the chords and lines by ear. Then we will examine the sheet music or chart and learn other parts by reading the notes and chord charts. I think by applying these methods will help the student to have a solid understanding of music.

I was raised in the music biz from the age of 10. It's all I've ever done my entire life and it will continue to be the only thing for the rest of my life. I love music. It's just that simple. If you want to check me out and if your intersted in owning a copy of my music go to

What is your typical process for working with a new student?

On the first lesson I like to sit down with a student and chat a little bit about what kind of music they listen to and why do they want to learn how to play. I like to find out if they have any prior musical education, if they currently learning in school and what are their goals as far as why do they want to learn how to play and I like to see what they can do and what they've learned already and where they're at as far as their abilities and let them ask me some questions

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

Studied music in, marching band. I played woodwinds primarily Saxophone and at the same time studying guitar privately eventually I joined the Jazz Ensemble in High School while studying in school Iwas teaching at H&H Music and studying music and playing in Dick Wilkie's Tuesday jazz ensemble. I got my two year degree in music and I went to Los Angeles and work as a session musician out there at Universal in Burbank in 87 I went back to college continued my studies and became an audio engineer or audio certified engineer 1989 I began my career as an audio engineer and became a production manager in Houston and then in 96 I was with an acid jazz group with Nick Cooper and Harry Shepard . In 2000 I co-wrote a song on a movie soundtrack called cement starring the late Chris Penn Sean Penn's brother. In 2000 started working as a freelance guitarist playing the Blues in California,  Arizona,  New Mexico, in Texas I played Corpus,  Padre Island, Galveston Island, Austin Dallas San Antonio Beaumont Orange then in Louisiana I played New Orleans, Baton Rouge, Lake Charles, Lafayette then Mississippi, Alabama, Florida. Now  today I am a Texas bluesman and I've dedicated my entire life  to music  and the Blues  as well as to educate young people and anyone that's wants to know about American music, and hopefully carry on the tradition in the art of the Blues and always remember if you want to play the blues you got to pay your dues believe me I am the blues Man
