Before studying Voice, look for
teachers you may actually like, look at their reaume to read about their career. There are teachers and there are teachers. Make sure their experience is with actual performance. If you find a teacher and during your lessons make your throat hurt and tired even hoarse and uncomfortable you must find out why before you get what is called a burned out voice. I wrote about that in my blog.
It is very important to take a good look at my website. I have had and taugbt the following genre of students, Opera, Oratorio, Pop, Gospel, Musical, Operette,Country Western, Speech, Vocal difficulties, even people with hearing disabilities, Burned out voices.
It is of great importance, when wanting to get in touch with me, text me. I receive to many calls with no name, so I do not pick up.
My phone during lessons are silenced unless I am expecting an overseas call. So text me.
My vocal teaching method emphasizes the natural style based on the proper breathing technique and correct posture. My teaching ls totally natural Voice
What I do not understand is , that people ask me question on here but never in the studio. One guy asked me if I teach men to sing like a woman, which nowadays is called a Sopranista, before Counter tenor and before that a Castrate. I worked exstensively with those type of voices, enjoying it immensely. Oh well I do understand that young people like and want to study with young teachers, just be careful about a burned out voice. If you do not know what that is, go to my website and look it up.
I do wish you and I mean every single one of you good luck on yopur quest to find the voice you behappy with but must also work on the big stages arena.

I have performed over a good part of the world. Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, all over New England, made my American debut in 1973 with an all Metropolitan Opera cast. Was understudy for the grewat American Baritone Robert Merrill. Radio, TV, Oratorio's, Musicals, was a judge at quite a few beauty pageants
lots of hands on, on the stages of many theatres. Saw first hand who did right and or wrong. Judged for Piano and Voice competiotions.
Won the unofficial first prize as, who is the Dutch Pat Boone, a huge contest held in Amsterdam at the Lucky Star nightclub.
As a child, I at the age 11 and12, was the main headliner at the City Theatre in Amsterdam, sing Dutch and Indonesian songs, had lots of notoriety and inhaled the short lived fame for almost 2 years.
The lit up faces of students when they grasp what I am trying to tell them. Priceless and there are times I get more excited about their find then they do. There was or is nothing like the feeling of being on the stage but teaching is certainly the runner up.
I have them sing music that can be very difficult but it is part of my teaching or trying them to sing with their own natural voice. One can sing a more mature piece but your own not a made sound.
It matures them faster in a good way. The biggest most importand thing I tell them is the breath one takes is the most difficult part of the complete process, it is the lifeline of the singing voice.
Some learn fast and some may take a much longer time
