Started playing Classical piano at age 6. Studied Classical piano at Boston University, Classical Performance Major, Jazz Business Major and Bachelor's of Music degree from UTA. Jazz Vocalist and Pianist, actively performing weekly, since 1991 in Dallas. Previously extensive performance experience in San Antonio, TX. Voted best keyboardist in San Antonio for several consecutive years, while working in and managing acclaimed pop/new wave band. I love seeing students or listeners get excited about the music. And I especially love seeing how learning music helps all ages feel more confident and expressive, even if they are previously shy or insecure. Music is the universal language that crosses all former barriors...and I love bringing people out of their shells.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I first find out what kind of music they want to learn to play. If they don't know, I expose them to a couple of different styles, by playing for them. Or, if there's a specific thing they want to work on or learn, I'm happy to simply focus on that one piece or technique - ranging from coaching for an audition, or simply learning to read notes. I tailor my lessions to the individual's needs and personality.
