FAQs

What is your typical process for working with a new student?

We first have a student fill out our New Client Form, which can be found here:

https://anna284074.typeform.com/to/bwPj1T

once we receive the New Client Form, a first session can be booked by going to www.truvoicelessons.com and clicking on the Book Now tab. Once a lesson is booked, the instructor will send an invite with the address if it's an in-person lesson, or a Zoom link if it's online.

During the first lesson, the first instructor will review the information on the New Client Form, use some basic exercises to assess the student's capabilities, and begin to discuss next steps and song selection for future lessons. We focus largely on proper fundamental technique and releasing body tension first - being able to perform at a higher level will follow quite naturally!

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

Our director Anna hold degrees in Voice Performance and Public Health. She also has training in respiratory therapy for singers, transgender voice therapy, Alexander Technique, and diction for foreign languages.

All of our instructors hold some college education, several years of experience with their instrument, and extensive teaching experience prior to working with us. Additionally, all instructors receive training, guidance, and continuing education from our director Anna.

Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.

The standard cost for lessons is $45 for a 30-minute session, $70 for an hour. Our head instructor Anna charges $55 for 30 minutes, $90 for an hour

How did you get started teaching?

Anna began singing in choirs in 2007, and began teaching in 2013 while perusing her Voice Performance degree. Since then, she has worked with as diverse a student base as you can imagine, and has trained many other skilled teachers on how to be the best they can be for their students!

What types of students have you worked with?

We have worked with singers of all different genres, professionals that need public speaking skills, voice over professionals, transgender clients wanting to change their voice, classical pianists, church musicians, rock/metal musicians, you name it! Whatever your skill level level or goals may be, there's a place for Olympic here!

What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?

Make sure they have education and experience. Also ask for a game plan for how they plan to get you from where you are to where you want to be!
