About
I have been a professional guitarist and music teacher for over 40 years. Although learning an instrument takes time, I use this experience to move students quickly towards results.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
Fundamentals of music as well as the mechanics of the instrument are covered first to get off to a legitimate start. To keep it fun and relevant, popular songs are offered up as soon as possible. Note reading in standard music notation as well as tablature (number system) is combined with chord playing and a little bit of music theory. The result can be a well-rounded music education over time.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I grew up in a musical family as my parents were both musicians. I was obsessed with playing and studying instruments from an early age.
How did you get started teaching?
What types of students have you worked with?
My students range from 6 years old and up. Some are adults. Some have continued their lessons for 5 years.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Students should only have to pay for one lesson at a time until a point is reached where student and teacher are both comfortable enough with the lessons continuing.
