What is your typical process for working with a new student?

I assess each student's level of proficiency, from absolute beginner to advanced performer. From there, we develop a plan of study including technique, repertoire, and basic music theory. I typically use the Alfred method for beginners and originate a varied plan for more advanced pupils.
