About
Violinist, Tracy Gibler began playing the violin at the age of 7 through the Suzuki program and performed with the Texas All-State orchestras all four years of high school. She went on to study with Dr. Kirsten Yon at the University of Houston and graduated summa cum laude in 2016. During her undergraduate studies, she performed in various masterclasses with Kristof Barati, world renowned soloist, Kathleen Winkler, professor of violin at Rice University, and performed as a soloist in Cambridge, England.
Tracy completed her master’s degree in performance at Florida State University studying with Professor Corinne Stillwell. She held a graduate assistantship with FSU and served as Principal Second Violinist with the University Symphony Orchestra. Tracy played with many of the regional Florida orchestras, including the Tallahassee Symphony Orchestra, Northwest Florida State Symphony Orchestra, Pensacola Symphony Orchestra, Sinfonia Gulf Coast, and Albany Symphony Orchestra. She was also a founding member of the Sinfonia Resident Quartet in Destin, Florida in which she created and performed interactive, educational concerts with elementary students throughout the northwest Florida region.
Along with performing, Tracy continues to teach violin students of all ages and abilities. She is trained in the Suzuki method for violin and believes that learning an instrument cultivates a beautiful heart.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I always cater each lesson to my students' specific needs using the Suzuki method. Each lesson is built to develop musicianship, technique, theory, and a love for the violin.
For my students in junior high and high school, we also prepare their orchestra, All-Region/All-State, and Solo and Ensemble music.

Age is only a number! I have taught students from 4 years old to 65. The most important quality in a student is a love of music.
