James Delgatty Guitar Lessons

My teaching approach:

Hello! My name is James Delgatty. I have close to eleven years of playing and performing experience with the guitar. I've been in a couple of bands and I've played with church bands plenty of times. I believe that the guitar is a great way to be introduced to the concept of music and basic music theory. It can be a great platform for transitioning into other instruments and learning more advanced theory

I can get together any time between 1.00 and 8.00 Monday through Saturday but I am more than willing to discuss other options. Lessons can be taken up to four a month.

Lead guitar, Rhythm guitar, Open tuning, Fingerstyle, Slide Guitar, Vocal Accompaniment, Improvisation, Jamming Skills, Music Theory, Scales and Exercises, Guidance In Equipment Selection

Your first guitar lesson with me might include the following:

On the first lesson, I will assess the student's sense of timing and rhythm, and their general sense of theory and give the student something to work on based on the assessment.

A guitar lesson with me might entail the following:

A lesson will generally start off reviewing the previous lesson for ten minutes, then the new lesson for the next twenty minutes, and practice for the remainder.

The qualities I look for in an ideal guitar student might include the following:

The ideal student is one who is willing to learn.
