My teaching approach:
My main goal in teaching guitar is to share a genuine love for music. My students are pushed to exceed their own expectations and perceived limits. Rock music drew me to guitar at an early age. I have since become very experienced in most guitar styles. I have played in many bands over the years gaining experience in several styles. I have been hired by local artists to play live shows. I have played venues from musical festivals to Abravenal Hall. I have recorded in pro studios and know what it takes to be a professional. I hold a degree from USU in Music Ed with emphasis in guitar. My influences are:
I have many influences as a musician. Stevie Ray Vaughan, Led Zeppelin, The Beatles, Pink Floyd, Jimi Hendrix, Bob Dylan, Bob Marley, Weezer, Incubus, The Romantics, AC/DC, Nile Rodgers, The Red Hot Chili Peppers, and Van Halen to name a few.My guitar lessons take place in:

Guitar lessons typically take place on these days and hours:I have openings on most days but prefer to teach in the afternoon. I do not teach on Sundays.

I ask several questions to gain an understanding a student's interests and attitude. I encourage students to play for me if possible and I work with them to set goals for them as a musician both long and short term.A guitar lesson with me might entail the following:
I build goals with my students and plan my lessons around achieving those goals. My lessons typically consist of a warmup, review, presentation of new concepts and material, application, and weekly practice assignment. Lessons are fluid however and can differ from week to week. I focus on good technique and fun repertoire.The qualities I look for in an ideal guitar student might include the following:
