About
My name is Dylan Baker, I teach professional, private guitar lessons for the Salt Lake City area. I offer well rounded and diverse instruction that emphasizes proper technique, instrument handling and tone production. I teach a wide range of guitar styles ranging from electric to acoustic guitar.
I have developed a very effective teaching method for my students. Through a combination of professional music instruction and a personalized teaching curriculum, you will be learning from one of the best guitar instructors in the Salt Lake Valley

Successfully Taught Orchestra, Wind Ensemble, Jazz Band, Concert Band & Guitar Ensembles
Performed in several bands ranging from Jazz, Soul, Singer/Songwriter and Reggae music
Counselor at the Boys and Girls Club in Sugarhouse for over 3 years (experience in teaching and organizing activities for kids between the ages of 5-12 years old)
Over twelve years of playing experience on the guitar, and eight years of teaching experience.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I teach each student dependent on their interests in music, with an strong theoretical base in music theory.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I graduated with a bachelors degree from the University of Utah with an emphasis in Music Education. I obtained a prefessional teaching license issued by the Utah State Office Board of Education in 2012.

$30 per 30 minute lesson.
How did you get started teaching?
I stated teaching 10 years ago, I am very passionate about teaching others the concepts and skills I have learned. I enjoy seeing my students become more proficient on their instrument.
What types of students have you worked with?
Adults and children of all ages.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
I really enjoy my student recitals, it's an excellent way to have my students demonstrate their skills and musicianship.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Their are a variety of instructors to choose from, however, I possess a strong background in Music Edcation from the University of Utah.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
How serious are you about becoming a proficient guitarist. Practicing guitar takes a lot of practice, patience and determination. If you have a willingness those three things, I can help you become a great guitar player.
