About
Hello guitar players! My name is Christian, and I have been teaching guitar for about 8 years. I have studied jazz guitar with Corey Christiansen at USU where I received my bachelors degree in Music Performance in 2023. As of May, I will have completed my Masters Degree in music performance. During this time, I was fortunate to work as a full-time teacher’s assistant. I taught undergraduate guitar majors in an ensemble setting, and had up to 15 private guitar students per semester. I have played with many musicians around town, and have performed many times during the course of my education, working with many great artists such as Danny Gottlieb (Pat Metheney Group)
I love teaching, and try to work with students to help them achieve their own personal guitar and music-based goals. I like to sprinkle a bit of theory in to each lesson, so that students may better understand the music that they are playing, visualize the fretboard, and connect with their inner musician.
If you are new to the instrument, I would love to help you better understand the guitar and quickly tackle the guitar’s learning curve so that you can start playing the music that you love. We can follow my beginning guitar curriculum, or take a more freestyle approach based on your own interests and goals.
My wish as a teacher is to help students become confident self-learners. Whether your passion is for bluegrass, jazz, metal, classical guitar, or are an aspiring singer-songwriter, I would love to work with you to become the musician you were meant to be!
