Jami Taylor is a professional guitarist with over 20 years of teaching and performing experience. She holds a music degree from Utah State University where she graduated with the Guitar Outstanding Student award in Guitar Performance. A performer with great breadth; Jami has played with big bands, jazz & bluegrass combo’s, classical ensembles, and rock bands. She has also done solo work in commercial, classical, bluegrass, jazz, and folk.
Jami is passionate about sharing the rewards of playing the guitar with others. She has served as a private guitar instructor at Utah State University and as an owner of her own teaching studio. She has also been a group guitar instructor at Colorado Free University (group blues & bluegrass), Draper Arts Academy, Ability School of Music and City Academy.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
One of the unique components of the Guitar Performance Program at Utah State University is its emphasis on teaching methodology. While at Utah State, Jami learned how to teach all ages, levels and styles in both a private and group setting. Jami now has 20 years of subsequent experience in doing just that. Many would say that Jami's greatest strength is in her teaching. She is patient and kind and works to break down concepts into simple, understandable steps.
