DJ Jones started playing piano at the age of 4. He picked up the guitar at age 10 and has since learned several instruments including the trumpet, cello, drums, ukulele, banjo, melodica, etc. He recorded his first CD at age 14, started touring with several different bands and solo projects at age 15, and has since then played more than 300 shows mostly in Seattle Washington and Salt Lake City Utah. He spent the last year working as a studio musician before moving to Utah to study commercial music at Utah Valley University. He is currently a sophomore and has completed courses in music theory including jazz theory and harmony courses, ear training, voice lessons (choir and private voice lessons), guitar, piano, and composition. He studied classical music with Barbera Walton for one year and Jazz guitar under world traveling guitarist Craig Green. He studied classical piano under Marsha Bjorn. He has performed with the Firth Orchestra and opened for several touring artists including Joshua James, Callie Moore, Cary Judd, Preston Pugmire, E for explosion, Danielle ate the sandwich, and Secondhand Serenade. DJ is a proficient songwriter, creating and arranging songs for Amor and Runaway dreams productions. He has been teaching guitar lessons at Brigham Larsons Pianos and privately since October of 2014 teaching both private and group guitar lessons. He has received top performance awards for the best violinist in Pocatello Idaho, and the best all around live performance award at LDS Business College, and winner of the 2012 classical guitar competition at the Idaho Falls Lutheran church. He has performed on 104.1 Classy rock, and on the live broadcast at LDS Business College. DJ has a music studio in Orem Utah where he has recorded local artists including Chase Larsen and Tyler Winn. He uses Pro tools along with several top of the line programs from Native - instruments, toontracks, Universal Audio, Waves, and Ableton to edit the music quickly and professionally. He started and ran the Acoustic Explosion competition 2012 and LDSBC Unplugged 2012 and his band Amor was the winning band at LDS Business Colleges battle of the bands. He played background piano music at several of the fundraising dinners at LDSBC and also was a founding member of ACBC an acoustic music club. DJ fixed up a stage and started finding bands to perform weekly at Wingers located on Hitt Road in Idaho Falls. Doing this raised company sales on weekends and provided a fun experience for the customers. He has worked as an accompanist at BYU Idaho and in Utah county where he accompanies two choirs. DJ was also a conductor for the stadium singing that would take place every Sunday in Rexburg 2011 to 2012. DJ currently is in Orem Utah and he accompanies 3 local choirs and teaches in home music lessons.
