August Simmons Guitar Lessons
About
My teaching approach:
I started playing the guitar when I was nine. I participated in the Paul green school of rock learning many styles of music. I also participated in my High School jazz bands until graduation. I simultaneously participated in the Crescent Super Band. I have played shows all over the country and the world. I have found that having a successful teacher is having a strong relationship. A feeling of comfort allow the student to ask questions, express concerns, and ask for clarification. I have also found students are most successful when they understand theory and scales.
My influences are:
Stevie Ray Vaughn, Eric Clapton, John Mayer, John Frusciante, BB King, Santana
My guitar lessons take place in:
The teacher's studio or the student's home

A lesson will consists of first reviewing the lesson before. Then, we take a couple minutes learning theory and/or scales. Then I like to work on a piece chosen by myself or the student which challenges the student to learn and progress.

Someone who is eager to learn, want to practice and come to me with things they want to learn
