Guitar Lessons By Steve Watson

If you have never played guitar before, we will start by learning to read music. By the second lesson you will be playing simple songs. The lessons are progressive so the songs you play are slightly more complex each week. Experienced guitarists receive a tailored approach appropriate to their musical needs and wants.

After studying classical guitar at the Chicago College of the Performing Arts, I moved to Austin TX and studied jazz guitar with a series of noted jazz recording artists including Glen Rexach, Clay Moore, and Steve Geraci while performing in many Austin groups, including Mosaic and Trifecta. In Salt Lake City, I have formed a jazz guitar duo with Chris Madsen, and play lead guitar with The Imperial Rhythm Boys.

Lessons are $25 for a half hour, and $35 for an hour.  If you pay monthly there is a 10% discount.

When I perform I am often asked if I give lessons.  Early on I was not interested in pursuing teaching because I wanted to focus on performing, but later changed my mind and now enjoy it as much as performing.

I work with ages 10 and older.
