About

I love music and teaching! I have taught piano for just over 20 years and work with eager students ages 6 to 17 plus adults. I teach weekly 30 minute lessons that cover learning and memorizing one or two pieces, lesson and sight reading, artistry and technique, and theory. Whether a beginner, intermediate, or advanced student, I bring out the musical artist that is inside every one of us! It enriches my life to see musical talents grow!

Emily is a wonderful teacher. She is patient, inspiring & kind. We had three piano teachers before Emily & my children made the best progress with her. She encourages kids to be creative & helps them find the types of songs that they enjoy. We love Emily & couldn’t recommend her more!

I started teaching lessons to my younger siblings then took my sister's "difficult students"  I come from a family of piano teachers and we share plans and approaches.

Elementary, junior high, high school, college, and adult.

I am proud of all of my students and their confidence when learning a new song. My heart is warmed as I reflect on the studenrs I started teaching at 6 that continue through high school. I love to remember my first lesson and compare it to the mature and advanced student in the present. I have a deep love for my students and their musical achievements.

Make sure you give attention and care to the art and craft. Pick someone with a skill and that you feel a connection with who makes the piano fun and keeps your passion alive.

What do you want to learn?

For example, Hymns? Fun songs? Classics? Sight reading, scales?

Have you picked 3 to 5 set times to practice per week?
