    Frequently asked questions

I found that very student is a different case. However, after a quick evaluation from a students first lesson helps me figure out what technique and method will help each and every individual to pick up, develope, and learn faster as well as easier. You will find that I'm naturally a very patient instructor who understand that it is a learning process. I am never pushy.

I was taught music theory by famous relatives, my cousin "Nina Simone”, my uncle "Frank Wess", (who was Count Basie's lead saxophonist), and my uncle "Bill Harris", (jazz guitar virtuoso), in Washington, D.C. and New York, NY, from December 1967 to June 1973.

My price is $40 per hour and $25 per half hour, in which I request both pricing systems to be paid monthly for four lessons per month.

Actually, I started teaching as a teenager. As I was learning I would teach others who were interested in playing guitar, bass guitar, as well as drums. I learned how to play muti-instruments from a very young age, beginning at 12 years old.

I've worked with International Diplomats "Ambassadors", College Professors, students kindergarten age, as well as teenagers and seniors in their 70's of all races and back grounds.

I'm currently working on a solo CD. Recording my own songs and music in my own studio is quite pleasurable when listening to the recorded finished play backs.

Well, I would say consider what style you are interested in learning and find a patient instructor who's good at that particular stlye to teach you. However, keep this in mind, everyone that may play very well may not be a good teacher. There is a difference. Note that I've been playing for 50 years, and great at playing and teaching every stlye, be it rock, jazz, country, blues, funk, and R&B. I'm well rounded as a guitarist, bassist, and at playing drums. You will be very lucky to have me as your music instuctor on any of these instruments.
