About
I like to see students grow taking a passion to make a dream a reality. My goal is to help students simplify the cycle of music and songs, develop a firm understanding for music theory, and rise to the next level of musicianship. These skills allow the student to learn and memorize material more easily, and to develop the confidence to perform live.
Music has been a long time passion for me, and nothing brings more joy than seeing an aspiring musician achieve success. My goal is share music and music theory to help the student easily learn, play and memorize music. Let's connect. The first lesson is free.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
First lesson is about getting to know you. Choose three songs you want to learn. Together we'll break down to song structure and use it as a beginning to understanding music and music theory. We'll cover ear training, intervals and rhythms.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I completed music theory and musicianship in the 1980s and sang at the 1984 opening and closing ceremonies of the Olympics. I directed choirs in Los Angeles in churches from 1984 to 1991. More recently, I've been playing and singing at farmers markets, micro breweries and churches in northern Virginia. In addition I've been playing and study double bass.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
Generally, I charge what I've seen being charged by others. If after the first lesson, you want to continue but can't afford the rate, please let me know. I'm happy to work with you.
How did you get started teaching?
Initially, I started when I was studying music in school. I was playing in the school jazz band (Big Band sound) and orchestra. Lessons were mostly acoustic guitar and electric bass in the local community and church. It was really great to see young learners grow and develop a greater interest in music.
What types of students have you worked with?
I'll work with students of all ages.
