About
Hi! I am a 22 year old UVA grad in Music and Cognitive Science. I have been playing music with a passion since I was six years old, was the leader of a band for three years, and am currently working on a solo EP. I am most interested in and have experience teaching elementary through high school students who have little to no experience with the guitar, hoping to be a good first step in their hopefully long musical journey! Please feel free to contact me with any potential questions.
I love being able to share my passion for music with others and provide them the resources and information necessary for future musical success and enjoyment.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
The first thing I do is to find out about their musical interests and goals and create a lesson plan based on that conversation. This may involve a heavy look into music theory, a focus on learning tab, or a more general, "casual" approach looking at chord sheets.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I took four years of guitar lessons in high school and have been playing weekly in a band or solo for the past five years since, along with a degree in Music from UVA.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
My prices are currently $25 for a half hour lesson, although prices may be context dependant.
How did you get started teaching?
I've taught friends and friends of friends in the past and have always enjoyed it. I was looking for a part time job while I volunteered in a research lab and figured I might as well do something I loved and teach others about it!
What types of students have you worked with?
Older elementary school kids all the way to college students.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Find someone who you're able to communicate well with and who fits your goals. If you don't like or can't have fun with your teacher during lessons it may turn you off of music forever.
