About

My teaching approach: In the beginning, "playing" the guitar is hard; however, it is one of those instruments that - once the neural connections are formed and the muscle memory is locked in - become easier over time. It's that "over time" factor that prevents most from going beyond just strumming a few chords. . . and most don't even want to think about Theory. Boo Hiss My goal for each student? To become a musician with the guitar as the primary means of expression. My influences are: D'Jango Reinhardt, Clapton, Al Petteway, Peter Huttlinger, Michael Johnson My guitar lessons take place in: The teacher's studio Guitar lessons typically take place on these days and hours: Monday 11AM, 4PM - 8PM Tuesday 11AM, 4PM - 8PM Wednesday 3PM - 5PM Thursday 4PM - 8PM Guitar Techniques: Lead guitar, Rhythm guitar, Open tuning, Fingerstyle, Slide Guitar, Vocal Accompaniment, Performance, Improvisation, Jamming Skills, Reading Music, Music Theory, Scales and Exercises, Guidance In Equipment Selection Your first guitar lesson with me might include the following: really depends on the student's level. as far as assessing ability - if they're not newbies, have them play for me A guitar lesson with me might entail the following: really depends on the student's level, but always playing a song The qualities I look for in an ideal guitar student might include the following: motivated. period
